Just outside Kitchener-Waterloo sits an abundance of little hamlets and villages. Rural living amongst the rolling farmland is becoming more popular as some people try to get away from the hustle of big city life.

One of these communities is Baden, which features a great mix of suburban homes in a rural setting. Abundant farms, garden centres, boutiques and antique shops call the picturesque community home. Baden commuters fall in love with the easy drive a few minutes east down Synders Road that will bring them into Kitchener-Waterloo. Baden is within minutes of the Highway 7/8 corridor, New Hamburg and Stratford. Highway 401 isn’t too far from Baden, and Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge are just a short drive away – making this location very convenient.

Whether its a few clear acres of urban development or amongst the tall forest on the outskirts of town, Baden features plenty of home varieties. Beautiful adult lifestyle communities like Foxboro Green can be found in Baden which offers 215 detached bungalow style homes with a community centre, indoor pool and library. Interwoven trails, landscaped parklands, open fields and a huge swan pond make up this paradise residence which sits next to the 27 hole Foxwood Golf Course.

Baden is suitable to entertain and nurture families of all ages. Sports and recreation, schools and a public library are easily found in Baden.

Sir Adam Beck Park is the site of Baden’s annual Community Bar-B-Q, an 11-acre venue in the centre of town. This fantastic parkland features a large picnic shelter and field house and can host all sorts of community events including tennis and nightlight baseball tournaments! On rainy days or for other community hobbyist a great place to visit is Castle Kilbride.

Erected in 1877, Castle Kilbride was the residence of former Ontario politician and businessman James Livingston, who represented Wilmot Township in 1878-79. The Castle sits at 60 Snyders Rd. and was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1994. Adult and group tours of the home as well as photography groups and children’s camps keep the grounds active year round.

Great parklands, golf courses, a convenient location and a national monument are highlights to living in beautiful Baden.
